Writing Futures Project

Writing Futures Project

As part of our ongoing commitment to ESG initiatives, we are proud to present the Writing Futures Project, an action designed to strengthen emotional bonds and promote the development of written expression and empathy through a letter exchange between volunteers from the Firm and children supported by Casa José Coltro, a nonprofit organization that has been transforming lives through education, care, and the social and professional inclusion of vulnerable children, youth, and adults in the Capão Redondo neighborhood since 1988. The initiative fosters equity, empowerment, and social justice.

The project involves 27 children, aged 9 to 12, and will take place over the course of three months, with a total exchange of six handwritten letters. More than just messages, these letters will be unique opportunities for intergenerational dialogue, active listening, and the creation of meaningful memories.

At the end of the project, an in-person peer exchange meeting will be held at Duarte Garcia’s headquarters, allowing participants to meet face-to-face and share their stories. As a gesture of care, each volunteer will gift their pen pal a book chosen especially for them, with a handwritten dedication, a symbolic reminder of a bond built with attention and affection.

Through this initiative, we reaffirm our belief in the transformative power of education, of time devoted to others, and of kindness expressed in simple gestures.
